Tate is our main employee, he is at the shelter Monday-Friday, all day.
Tate is 42 years old, he has lived in Brook, IN his whole life. He is a high school graduate, having graduated from South Newton High School, home of the Rebels! He was searching for a job he would enjoy when he saw an ad for the animal shelter in newspaper, put in the application, and gladly got a call for an interview. He thought it would be interesting to work with animals, as he has always loved them, so when offered the job as the shelters main employee he happily accepted.
"I feel good about the opportunity to work with and help the animals, as well as benefiting the county and animal loves of the county."
-Tate
Larissa is our part-time employee and is available Saturday-Sunday, and various days of the week.
Larissa is the youngest employee of the shelter at 19 years old. She grew up in Cedar Lake, IN and just recently moved to Lake Village. She graduated from Crown Point High School in December of 2013, and is attending Penn Foster College online in order to obtain a Veterinary Assistant Diploma. Ever since she was young she has had a love and passion for animals, and always knew that one day she wanted to work with them. When she saw the add for a Shelter Worker in the Newton County Enterprise she was thrilled and applied with high hopes the next day. She loves working with the animals and plans to make a career out of the shelter.
"I love caring for the animals with a passion, and am very blessed to have this opportunity."
-Larissa
